KCBC (Korea Craft Brewers Club), operated by Daily Beer under its flagship craft beer brand Daily Beer, has partnered with convenience store chain CU to launch a new series of ultra-fresh craft beers, with a different release every month.
Originally created to support independent regional breweries, KCBC is a collaborative initiative that brings together local breweries under a shared monthly theme. Participating breweries produce unique beers that are introduced through Daily Beer locations, creating a successful platform that promotes local craft breweries while expanding consumer access to diverse Korean craft beers.
Daily Beer, which previously received the Presidential Commendation for its contributions to Korea's franchise industry, distinguishes itself through a fully integrated business model that manages every stage of the process—from product planning and brewing to distribution and retail. The company has also surpassed 50 million servings sold, reflecting its leadership in Korea's craft beer market.
Building on this expertise, the KCBC project continues to discover and support talented independent breweries across Korea. Following the February release of "Mass Extinction" from Brewery Eulleul, the March collaboration features Brewery 304's signature beer, KCBC Pluto Blonde Ale.
Pre-orders for Pluto Blonde Ale will be available through March 23. The beer is a light and refreshing American-style blonde ale featuring bright citrus notes of grapefruit and orange, complemented by a crisp finish, delicate floral aromas, and fresh herbal characteristics. The brewing process includes clear lautering to achieve a clean body, while a biotransformation dry-hopping technique enhances the beer's vibrant hop aroma.
The beer was awarded a Silver Medal in the Session IPA category at the 2023 International Beer Cup (IBC), earning international recognition for its quality. Its name, "Pluto," reflects the brewery's hope that the beer will remain beloved by consumers, much like the former planet that continues to capture public imagination despite its reclassification.
One of the project's most innovative features is its "Ultra-Fresh Beer Fresh Pickup" delivery system. To preserve the delicate hop aroma that defines premium craft beer, brewing begins at the end of February, with the beer canned on March 26 at peak freshness. Using a carefully managed cold-chain logistics system, the beer will be delivered directly to designated CU convenience stores on April 1, allowing consumers to enjoy it in its freshest possible condition.
