Edaily TV aired Episode 23 of Executive Conversations with Geun-myeon Lee, featuring Daily Beer and its craft beer franchise brand, Daily Beer.
The program explores corporate management and marketing strategies through in-depth interviews, discussing key business challenges and growth opportunities. Hosted by former Minister of Personnel Management Geun-myeon Lee and Edaily TV reporter Da-ae Moon, the show aims to present business management topics in an informative and accessible format.
The episode focused on Daily Beer's business strategy, with CEO Sangjin Lim sharing the company's approach to building Korea's leading craft beer platform.
"We oversee every stage of the business—from product planning and brewing to distribution, marketing, and retail," Lim said. "Our platform is designed to encourage participation from as many industry partners as possible while creating a balanced ecosystem where value is shared fairly among everyone involved."
Lim attributed the company's decade of sustained growth, including its resilience through the COVID-19 pandemic, to its sustainable business model.
"The same philosophy applies to our international expansion," he said. "Rather than competing directly with overseas breweries, we aim to build collaborative partnerships."
As part of that strategy, Daily Beer recently signed a joint venture agreement with Singapore-based Katrina Group to jointly operate chain locations serving Korean-style fried chicken and Korean craft beer in Singapore.
Lim also emphasized that Daily Beer is focused on creating memorable customer experiences rather than simply selling beer.
"If our goal were only to sell beer at competitive prices, we could never compete with convenience stores," he said. "We're committed to creating a culture where people can truly enjoy craft beer."
Offering advice on appreciating craft beer, Lim encouraged consumers to pay greater attention to aroma.
"Just like wine, aroma plays an essential role in craft beer," he explained. "Many people don't realize how aromatic beer can be. Taking a moment to smell the beer before tasting it greatly enhances the overall experience."
