Daily Beer, Korea’s leading craft beer platform, announced that it successfully hosted the 2024 KCBC Awards to recognize members of the Korea Craft Brewers Club (KCBC) who have contributed to the growth and popularization of Korea’s craft beer industry.
This year's awards honored seven breweries across six categories: Best Longtime Partner, Long-Running Beer, Rookie of the Year, Contribution Award, Best Tap Takeover, and People's Choice Award.
The Best Longtime Partner Award, presented to the first brewery to collaborate with Daily Beer, was awarded to Amazing Brewing for its "Amazing Ale." The Long-Running Beer Award, recognizing the beers with the longest sales history at Daily Beer, was jointly presented to "Dark Wave" by Wild Wave Brewing and "Pacific IPA" by The Ranch Brewing.
The Rookie of the Year Award, given to the best-selling beer launched during the previous year, was awarded to Platinum Brewery's "Geumgang IPA." The Contribution Award was presented to BioCraft in recognition of its significant support for KCBC activities and its contributions to the development of Korea's craft beer industry.
The Best Tap Takeover Award, recognizing the brewery that achieved the highest beer sales during the Tap Takeover events jointly organized by Daily Beer and KCBC, was awarded to Ggeek Beer Company. The People's Choice Award, selected by Daily Beer franchise owners and customers, went to Jeju Beer for its "Red Lager."
KCBC was founded by Daily Beer and leading Korean craft brewers under the slogan, "We Build Our Industry Together." Over the past year, KCBC has organized a variety of industry initiatives, including educational seminars on yeast, off-flavors, and IBU (International Bitterness Units), as well as Tap Takeover events and Meet the Brewer sessions. This year, the organization also launched its first collaborative brewing project, "Blue Dragon Beer," in celebration of the Year of the Blue Dragon.
"We congratulate all of this year's award winners," said a Daily Beer representative. "Although not every member received an award this year, we sincerely thank every KCBC brewery for their continued dedication to advancing Korea's craft beer industry alongside Daily Beer. We will continue working to make craft beer more accessible and enjoyable for everyone."
