Daily Beer announced on the 10th that it successfully hosted its “Meet the Brewer” event on June 7 in collaboration with Jeju-based craft brewery Tamra Ale.
According to the company, the event is part of the KCBC (Korea Craft Brewers Club) regional brewery partnership program, which invites the brewers behind each month’s KCBC collaboration beer to Daily Beer stores. Participants have the opportunity to hear directly about the brewing process, the brewery’s philosophy, and the stories behind the beers.
The featured guest was brewer Hong Chang-soo of Tamra Ale, the brewery behind May’s KCBC collaboration beer, “Ttachi.” Founded in Jeju in 2018, Tamra Ale is a local craft brewery dedicated to creating beers inspired by the island’s landscape, using Jeju’s pure water and locally sourced ingredients.
“Ttachi” is an India Pale Lager (IPL) brewed with lager yeast for a clean finish while incorporating Simcoe and Amarillo hops through a double dry-hopping process to deliver IPA-like aromas. With an ABV of 5.6%, it offers vibrant citrus notes. After being offered through Pocket CU’s Fresh Pickup reservation service in May, the beer is now available on draft at selected Daily Beer locations.
During the event, brewer Hong shared the story behind the founding of Tamra Ale, the recipe development process for “Ttachi,” and the brewery’s future brewing plans. Guests enjoyed fresh draft beer while participating in a Q&A session and a prize giveaway.
A Daily Beer representative said, “While managing every stage of our business—from planning and brewing to distribution and exports—we have continued collaborating with breweries across Korea for the past 13 years to support the growth of the domestic beer industry. We plan to continue introducing outstanding breweries from around the country through monthly events in the second half of the year.”
The KCBC project received the Presidential Commendation in 2025 from Korea’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Through Daily Beer’s nationwide store network and distribution infrastructure, the program helps regional breweries expand their reach through both online and offline collaboration opportunities.
