Daily Beer (CEO Lim Sang-jin), operator of Korea’s leading beer platform, announced that KCBC (KOREA CRAFT BREWERS CLUB) has unveiled its April collaboration beer as part of its monthly release of new “ultra-fresh craft beers” in partnership with CU.
KCBC was originally created as a collaborative project to support local breweries. Each month, the project works with talented breweries under a shared theme to produce craft beers, which are then introduced through Daily Beer stores, creating a successful model for supporting the growth of local breweries.
Following the successful launches of previous participating breweries, the KCBC project will introduce “HAETAE Czech Pilsner,” the signature beer of Fundamental Brewing, a skilled brewery based in Yeongtong, Suwon, as its featured beer for April.
Available for reservation through the Pocket CU app from April 1 to April 23, “HAETAE” is an authentic Czech Pilsner-style lager brewed with premium Saaz single hops, widely recognized as one of the finest hop varieties in the Czech Republic and Germany. Unlike mass-produced commercial lagers, the beer highlights Fundamental Brewing’s distinctive depth of flavor and refined brewing craftsmanship.
The key innovation of the KCBC project is its “ultra-fresh beer pickup delivery” system utilizing CU’s convenience store infrastructure. To preserve the clean flavors and delicate hop aromas that define lager beer, “HAETAE” will be brewed at the end of April and delivered directly to customers’ selected CU stores nationwide on May 7 through an optimized logistics system, ensuring the freshest possible condition.
A Daily Beer representative stated, “The combination of Daily Beer’s distribution innovation network, recognized through its Presidential Commendation, and Fundamental Brewing’s advanced brewing expertise allows us to deliver the authentic experience of a Czech Pilsner, just like a freshly poured draft beer, to consumers nationwide. Through ‘HAETAE,’ a beer that remains true to its fundamentals while offering diverse flavors, we hope customers can experience a new standard of craft lager beer.”
Meanwhile, Daily Beer, which received a Presidential Commendation from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, operates a unique vertically integrated system that covers the entire process from planning, recipe development, production, distribution, and sales, unlike brands that simply distribute existing commercial beers.
