Daily Beer, a craft beer brand operated by Daily Beer Co., Ltd. (CEO Lim Sang-jin), announced that it will launch a limited-edition “SPECIAL BEER (custom beer)” in collaboration with popular illustrator Kim Da-ye at CU convenience stores to celebrate National Puppy Day on March 23.
The project was designed not only to offer a unique beer experience but also to preserve precious memories with companion dogs and deliver hope to abandoned dogs in need. Since its launch, Daily Beer has continuously donated essential supplies to animal protection organizations every year, practicing its commitment to animal welfare. This collaboration further expands those efforts into a customer-participation campaign.
The newly introduced “SPECIAL BEER” is a customized beer that allows consumers to create their own design by adding photos of their companion dogs, known as the “Mac-Kku (decorating your beer)” campaign. Featuring Kim Da-ye’s artwork templates, characterized by simple lines and warm colors that capture gentle everyday moments, customers can create a one-of-a-kind beer can using photos of their own dogs stored on their phones. The beer can becomes a personal canvas, transforming an ordinary refrigerator into a private art gallery and offering a special emotional experience.
To further enhance the meaning of the campaign, a portion of the product sales revenue will be donated to abandoned dog protection organizations. The funds will support medical treatment for rescued animals and help them find new families. The joy of creating a personalized beer is expected to become a source of warmth and hope for abandoned dogs.
Illustrator Kim Da-ye shared her thoughts, saying, “I hope that my work, which turns ordinary days into special moments, can become a source of hope for abandoned dogs as they move toward a better tomorrow.”
A Daily Beer representative stated, “We have expanded our ongoing support for abandoned dogs into a customer-participation campaign. We hope people can celebrate the precious moments shared with their companions, who provide comfort at the end of a tiring day, and that this warm sentiment can reach animals waiting in shelters as well.”
Meanwhile, the custom beer will be available through the CU app (Pocket CU) via a pre-order system. From March 23 (Monday) to April 5 (Sunday), customers can select a template, submit their photos and information via email, and pick up their customized beer at their chosen CU store starting April 24 (Friday). The product is an alcoholic beverage intended for adults only and must not be given to dogs.
